OVERVIEW

When talking custom cars, Echo Speed Lab has it covered. This project was created during a Platt College class where each student was assigned a random company. Mine was an automotive business. I decided to go the route of a company that deals with custom car work, be that interior, exterior, even repairs. This project was designed to put all of the languages together to form a cohesive project.

THE PROCESS

Following a very standard procedure, this site started with a basic style tile to establish a brand, as well as a look and feel. Colors, typography and other elements are established within that tile. Moving along, I moved into Photoshop Comps, making sure to comp every display from Desktop, down to mobile. After the comps were approved by the "client", I started my plan of attack, establishing a Minimum Viable Product, keeping all deadlines in mind.

THE CODE

As stated, this site was meant to combine all the languages I had learned thus far into one cohesive product. HTML5 and CSS3 were used to create the structure and styles, and then I moved into Javascript & jQuery to create the main slider, and the mobile navigation menu. Once the home page was finished and styled to my liking, I chopped it up into bite-sized pieces and used PHP to put it all back together, creating a basic template/framework. Doing so allowed me to add navigation items on the fly, as well as make major design changes with ease.
