OVERVIEW

Guitar Goblin is a WordPress Blog that uses a custom WordPress template I designed. The main function of this site is to blog about Heavy Metal music, gear reviews, and it features a Song & Album of the week. This project started as a basic static 960 pixel website, and was the first site I ever designed.

After I learned more about the web, and how to create websites driven by databases, I wanted to take this idea to the next level and make it more dynamic and interactive.

THE PROCESS

Creation of this site began with a Style Tile to establish a basic look and feel. Moving on from there, basic wireframes were created to begin building a structure to the site. Finally, Photoshop comps were then created to give an accurate visual representation of the site.

THE CODE

Once the final Photoshop comps were completed, I moved into the coding process. The site uses HTML5, CSS3/SASS and Javascript/jQuery all fed into the WordPress CMS to control the back end content. Media queries were used to make the site liquid and responsive between all screen displays.
